Even, without '55 Chevy taillights? I guess, it's possible to swap them onto the Cit, though. As soon as the '55 DS (coincidentally, the first year they appeared) debuted at an auto show, in Paris, they were swamped with so many orders that they couldn't keep up for a while.

Many more expensive vehicles had the full rear wheel exposed. Many opened up the '55 Chevy to mimic the new '55 Nomad.
Some of us even used solid '55-56 Buick tail lite lenses. Later "Lee" company made a similar all red '55 Buick like tail lite lense.
Remember all '55 Chevy tail lites were two piece lenses with a thin metal divider separating the white lense of the back up lite. Most likely 50% of the '55 Chevys did not have back up lites. Those were accesseries on all but the Bel Air and Nomad. Back up lites were not mandatory until later on vehicles, same as turn signals, seat belts, and more as our government decided to protect us from... us.

Sounds like closet indecent exposers, to me, Sir.

Today's hot rodders can even buy repro Nomad quarters to solve clearance issues. Cut and hack back in the day unless building a show car, hell you can only look at one side at a time...lol

You sound like those old time car stripers and flame painters.
I was tempted to paint a car red on one side and blue on the other and use different wheels.:rofl2:

That poor Merc took it on the chin big time. Wonder how they managed to fold it. Time for a new frame, in any case:

That is NOT an easy thing to do! Did someone pick it up with a crane, then drop it? It looks like King Kong or Godzilla folded it!
