Wagons in vintage Street scenes

Theater movies in the days before multi-screen venues began popping up. After drive-ins, going to these older houses (such as the Everett Theater here or the Spreckels Theater in downtown San Diego) was such a treat.

 

I recognize this corner -
Washington Bl / Sepulveda Bl., Culver City, CA.
- around 1965 I think.

Then again, 'Planet of the Apes' came out in 1968, so maybe this pic is a bit more recent...just coincidence it has a lot of older cars in it. I think that's a 4-door '65 Corvair on the far left.


Shot taken from approx. the same position, around 1959 I think (check out the flat-top Olds in the showroom)

 

Yeah, we've seen those exact pics a couple times before in this thread. Cool pics, but we've seen them.

 

So many cool pics, so many cool pics posted by many menbers that have been posted before and before that, and again. I think(?) for me it was about 500 pages ago I started to notice, I also wondered how long before someone would gripe about it...............................




Maybe anyone who posts from now on should review all 1221 pages so there are no reposts, was going to post some more today....but I don't have the time to make sure the pic wasn't posted 7 years ago for the first time......................................

 

Hahaha! I was waiting for that. Some have a better memory than others!!!It was a good pic and also,Those of us who are still green behind the ears and soaking wet haven't seen it!
