Wagons in vintage Street scenes

Yes, we all know where the Wisconsin Dells are. I was fortunate to see it from an Amtrak train slow ordered to 10 MPH because Milwaukee Road railroad had just sold out to the Soo Line Railroad the previous month, and their trackage was in such terrible condition, a systemwide 10 MPH slow order was imposed by the FRA (Federal Railway Admin.) until Soo Line could bring the track conditions up to allow faster trains. Essentially, I was treated to the most spectacular natural color show I'd ever seen, as it was early October 1989. Took us something like 70 minutes to traverse the Dells at 10 MPH, and I have pics in my storage I took from the coach.

 

We went up to Wisconsin many years in October for my first wife's anniversary. It was when most of the town shut down for the season and the few attractions still open were not crowded, discounted, or free. I'm not cheap, just thrifty!
We loved Circus World, House on the Rock, RR and car museums besides the boat rides and walking trails.
The vintage scenes bring back lots of memories.

 

I missed one of my Bucket List items from Circus World: Ernest Borgnine and his wife would perform in the Circus World Parade as a pair of clowns. I wanted to go see the parade to see him; I never got around to it.
