Plymouth (and Dodge) didn't get any credit for making an incredibly attractive 2-door hardtop roof line in 1960........mostly because it was attached to a car body that was so ugly.

Los Angeles, early 60's (could be Wilshire Bl....?)

May Co. department store. With the snow-covered mountains in the background, this is most likely somewhere out toward Pomona, sort of on the way to San Bernardino....

Manhattan Beach Pier. Still there today.

White Front discount department store. I guess you could call it our local 'Wal-Mart' from the 50's and into the late 60's. Sold everything from clothes to large appliances. ((They were really big on the appliances and TV's....) I think this one is out in the San Fernando Valley somewhere. We had to drive all the way to El Segundo to get to our closest one.

Did you guys have Thriftimarts? Remember the radio jingle? I do.....

    7th & Broadway, downtown Los Angeles, 1977:

    L.A 4-level interchange, early 60's.....(?)
The traffic coming toward you in the pic is on the N/B Holloywood Fwy, headed in (mostly) a N/W direction toward Hollywood. Going the other way, you eventually reach a split that would take you east (San Bernardino Fwy) or south (Santa Ana Fwy). But right here, where you see the signs, you can also go to the left (N/W) on the Pasadena Fwy, or S/W, then South, on the Harbor Fwy. (The Harbor Fwy turns into the Pasadena Fwy at this interchange.)

We had one of these little 'parking lot control towers' at our local Sears store in Santa Monica. Don't remember him doing much good. It always seemed a chore for my folks to park there.....

    Adam-12's Sargent.....

A still taken from a scene of the 'Rockford Files', filmed at Ascot Raceway in Gardena, CA. Sadly, the Raceway is gone now.

And to finish off, we have a triple-play here. The world-famous Big Donut Drive-In (more of a 'drive-thru'), Delores' Drive-In (real car hop service), and next door to Delores', Albertson Oldsmobile. Mr. Albertson's daughter and her gal-pal commenced to flirtin' with me at the restaurant I worked at in 1970.......(at least, that's how I see it now, 46 years later......LOL)

The donut drive-in pics didn't make it. But I remember, we had a single White Front up here in Seattle, along with Valu-Mart before they were pushed out by K-Mart, Fred Meyer, et. al.

Funny how there wasn't much traffic on the last stretches of Interstate in California that TV shows could have scenes on them. Not any more, nowadays....

    Well, here's that 'triple-play' pic I missed......

Looks like the Safety Safari camper in the background.
