It always amazes me to see people outside their cars with bears nearby. Especially bears with cubs. I'm sure that warning sign was there for a reason.
We live around 50 miles from Ocala National Forest and we've only seen a few bears along the highway and another deep in the woods along a trail.

Tedy, these camping photos are great. Takes me back to days of going with my best buds family, they had a 68 Pontiac Executive(?) wagon and we towed a Tag A Long trailer. Cape Henlopen here we come! I would love to have a Serro Scotty to pull with the '57 now. unc

Dave it's nice how old photos bring back old memories. My parents or none of the family I know of camped. But my wife and I started camping early in our marriage. Couldn't afford motels and loved getting out in the woods and bank fishing. After that we'd go many weekends and for my short vacations. Most times early on we never went more than 25 to 50 miles away but at least we were away from the rat race.
Like you we expected to buy and fix an old RV, Shasta or Airstream, was my choices, but it never happened. Now it's nice to look at the street scenes and old camp sites of the past. We have some members doing a great job of entertaining us.

Way back when we'd visit Florida and the early years living here these welcome centers seemed to be everywhere with free orange juice, information, maps, etc.

You are so right about the entertainment!! After I typed my last response, I got to thinking... like my Jen would camp without the temperpedic. Maybe I should just keep working on the "57. unc
