Here's some useless information that some may find interesting.
In 1959, the state of New Jersey retired their black license plates with orange letters for the cream with black letters shown on the '63 Rambler wagon in one of the above pictures. They reissued new plates to everyone in the state, alphabetically. My Dad, John Fitzgerald, got BPN-622, his Dad, also John Fitzgerald, got BPN-624 and my uncle, Ralph Fitzgerald, got BPN-702. I see the plate # on the Rambler is BPO-465, not too far away, alphabetically speaking, from our plates. I dare say their last name began with the letter f as well. Another piece of trivia would be that since they were issued in 1959 and this is a '63 Rambler, the owner must've transferred his old plates rather than getting new ones with the new car. My dad did that in '63 when he traded in his '59 Ranch Wagon on a '63 Country Sedan.
Now that I've thoroughly bored you, let me put you to sleep with more minutiae. This Christmas, my older brother gave me a present that I never, ever expected. All these years, he had held onto the BPN-622 plates, so he wrapped them up and they were this year's Xmas gift. Pretty cool, right. Now, all I have to do is get a '59 wagon, apply for personalized plate # BPN-622, and instead of using the new plates they'll issue, I'll put the old ones and have actual period correct ones on the car.
Anybody want to trade a '59 for my '87 Colony Park? No, huh? Didn't think so!!

Yikes, in that motel picture, the Nova wagon sure did park close to the '63 BelAir. How much ya wanna bet the guy who was driving the Bel Air put a ding in the Nova's door trying to get in his car?
