We just watched Emperor of the North again last evening. Great movie with old trains and hobos. Lee Marvin and Ernest Borgnine star in it.

My brother Tim's friend Doug, his dad was an old hand on the Great Northern Railway, having started as a brakeman in the 1930's, so he and other former steam-era railroad men were on the movie, handling the railway equipment and locomotives.

Yes it was. Unfortunately, he had passed away long before Doug told me; I would've loved to get my dad together with him, as Dad was an avid steam train fan.

I can't find anything on this specific locomotive other than another photo on Pinterest, but Manchester Locomotive Works was a principal that made up the American Locomotive Works (ALCO) in 1901.

I think that's on the Denver & Rio Grande, which ran both Standard and narrow gauge in Colorado to New Mexico, but I could be wrong.

The Narrowgauge locomotive is from the Bridgton and Saco railroad in Maine
