Sweet. Seeing that Dodge pickup is like coming upon a Plymouth Woody Wagon. It happens, but rarely.

I guess I'll post up some pics of pickups I used to own. Unfortunately, there are some I don't have any pics of...…...

My very first pickup, purchased in the middle of the first big 'gas crisis' in 1975. I sold the 1969 4-door Thunderbird to buy this, a 1972 Ford Courier. It came with the Perris Valley Campers camper shell, and I built a semi-interior for the back, with carpet-covered boxes and floor panel pieces that also laid down at the top of the boxes to make a bed area. We inflated an air mattress and had a pretty good-sized bed. I remember a trip to Yosemite in June, when we got snowed on.....

That little house it's parked in front of is where we lived back then. It was a very tiny one-bedroom house we rented in Redondo Beach. Stayed there for a bit less than a year I think, when our landlord evicted us because she was getting a divorce and needed to move in herself. Kinda ticked me off, because we liked having our own place. Had to move in with the mother-in-law for a short while, due to the short notice.

Next up, truck-wise, was our 1979 Toyota deluxe longbed, which we bought 'used' in 1980. My wife's sister and hubby had just bought a new '80 Toyota 4x4 P/U, and I liked it a lot. We just happened upon this one at an RV dealer of all places. It was the medium-trim 'Deluxe' model, not the SR-5, but the original owner had applied the 'SR-5' side stripes. He also installed an A/M flip-up sunroof. It was an automatic, and had a fiberglas shell on it when we bought it. I sold the shell, and we purchased the used cab-over camper for $600.. We both absolutely LOVED this truck. Wouldn't mind having another....

Wish I had more pics of this one.....

I like the little Courier, especially with the rad mag wheels.
Still hoping you find a photo of your FORD crew cab someday...

Unfortunately J, this is the ONLY pic I have showing the '79 F-350 crew. You can see more of our 5th wheel in the background than you can of the truck. That's our older daughter Shannon 'driving'. She'll be 32 in May, and is the mother of our only grandchild, who will be 3 in October.....
