Yup, me too. I've ridden most of the State's fleet, including the newest boat, the Chetzemoka. My favorite was the Evergreen State Class, they were huge and rode the best.
I remember the older boats, with what I would consider to be 60's interior appointments. It's crazy to think that in the 80's, the first time I rode one, that was only 20 years in the past but it seemed ancient to me at the time. But they were well kept and I was completely fascinated with the entire thing. My Mother has mentioned that even at a young age I was always captivated by things that were from before my time. I haven't ridden on the new boat yet. I'm sure it's pretty neat. But there was a certain charm to the older vessels.
Well the Fury was before your time. And it appears that your boys have the same reverence to an era that was before they’re time. I’m always fascinated with the simplicity, yet quality of older things. I think that’s a great trait to have. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think a lot of the reason many of us here like the old cars is that it harkens back to a more gentle time in our lives, or a happy memory. I know it’s another thread but I’m delighted when I see your boys working on your car with such interest and gusto.
