It's funny, over the decades, you see the little stick-ons or license plate frames that call out a particular dealer's name on a car; then you see the pic on here that Jeremiah posts up, and you make a mental connection. In this case, it's Halladay Olds-Cadillac. I've seen the name more than a few times over the years, now I know what the dealership building looked like.
You'd never hear such vocabulary used on Midwest television. Back then, it was even unthinkable. Bill Hamby once ratted me out on our teacher, because he thought he heard me say Hell. And this was in the 2nd grade. If our teacher wasn't convinced by my argument, I would have gotten into trouble. Maybe, even having to visit the pricipal for a knuckle rapping
That makes sense. Maybe it wasn't even aired on TV or perhaps only once very late at night. Hopefully wasn't too offensive to anyone!
. At least it was a San Francisco area commercial, versus some genteel place like Charleston, South Carolina. With what was happening in SF in the late ‘60’s this commercial was probably mild, and may have even gone unnoticed through at least 5 or 6 viewings.

Well it sure made the rounds. It debuted in 1955? And here it is at a Lincoln dealer in ‘59. They got their mileage out it for sure.
