This shot was taken in the early evening during the late-1950s by a man named Strickland who operated the Auto Exchange, a used car dealership located at 3500 Washington Avenue in Houston, Texas. The picture contains a colorful view of the vehicles Strickland was offering for sale as well as the inventory at Walker Motors one of his competitors across the street. Courtesy of The Old Motor
One of my best friends and coworkers was a Strickland from Alabama. I'd like to have any vehicle from either front lot at the price they sold for back then. Or maybe I'll go to Danville, Ind and buy that Shell sign before the crew from American Pickers offers way too much!
I like the shot of the two 65 Impala's on the lube rack, to bad I can't read the name of the small Pontiac Dealership in the last post. Look's to be a 1970 GP & 1971 Full Size cars on the lot.
