"Dawn Carley, 30, was only shaken up by the collision" Back when an American Made automobile could be side swiped by a freaking school bus and leave the inhabitant "only shaken up"
Other than station wagons, I've got a thing for 4-door hardtops. 60Mercman was referring to the '57 Ford 4-door hardtop pictured in a post #1423 (Doghead). I decided to find out a bit more about them, like when they were first made. It turns out you won't find any 4-door hardtops until the 1955 model year, when they were sold by Oldsmobile. After that, almost EVERY US automaker had 4-door hardtops in the 1956 model year.
I got my info off an article I read, doing my research. After your inquiry, I did some further checking, and found THIS magazine ad for a 1955 Buick Riviera 4-door hardtop: Looking at the '55 Buick brochure on-line, there's no '55 Riviera 4-door hardtop in it, so I'm thinking that maybe this was a mid-year model introduction for them. Here's another ad, apparently published in later Winter or very early Spring, 1955, indicating 'new models'...... So, the answer to your question is....... YES!
How about some interwar German VOMAG's the 1st couple have the optional forward drivers compartment, and what they looked like without that option and the design that replaced them.
