Or even just a home. Imagine, no property taxes or slumlords to pay. If the bus is large enough, I'd move out of here and in there, in a minute
Our retirement dream was to buy and build an old motorhome from something and see the USA like Doris Day. But adoption happened and we didn't want to home school. We came close twice buying an old bus. One was right after I bought a 5th wheel RV and truck. Could have bought an old St Louis city bus converted to a motorhome. It had a rebuilt Detroit diesel and inside was custom built camper. It even had an electric or LP gas fireplace. What I really liked was the door was at the very front corner, sort of aiming part way forward and it had bug eyed head lites. Sadly I'd just bought the 5th wheel and new pick up truck. The old couple were only selling because the old man had a stroke while driving and nearly killed them. The old lady was able to get stopped. One of those chance in a lifetime buys that I always seem to miss. The other bus was a bit more complicated. About 100 miles north of us is a state park, Starved Rock Park. At one time they had some of those smaller old double decker buses and were selling them. What a neat RV that would have made. Maybe it was good we lived on a crowded city lot and I already had too many toys.
