IMO, buying a 35' motorhome or large travel trailer is not the way to go, unless you are doing it FULL TIME. Why bring your whole house with you? Bigger, more complex unit means more possibility of stuff breaking = more time spent NOT relaxing. We found our 26' 5th wheel to be comfortable for 2 + 2 small kids, and our 23' travel trailer to be comfortable for 2 + 3 kids (it had 3 bunks). A/C, stereo, stove, microwave - all that we needed. In the TT, our king size bed was made up from the large U-shaped dining bankette at the front. Very comfortable - we just had to strip it every AM and set it up at night - 3 minutes.

If it's set up properly, towing a reasonably-sized trailer with a vintage wagon is certainly possible.

    Requirements:
    - Adequate V8 power
    - Professionally installed, weight-distributing hitch, with anti-sway control
    - Electric Trailer brakes
    - Do not listen to trailer salesmen! (Ask me how I know this...) Talk to those who tow a lot all year.
