It is when crap like this happens that we realize, or I do at least, that it doesn't matter what things you have, they can disappear in a heartbeat. So enjoy them like crazy when you can because you just don't know what is going to happen next.

Get that car out and use it, get the family out in it to also appreciate it, go for picnics, to drive-ins, and take life at a pace that is people friendly.

We talk about simpler times - I know my parents made it a point to get us to church on Sundays and then we'd do something- go somewhere, picnic, the lake, or just a drive down the country roads. Sometimes we'd go to a new development and tour the open houses just to dream, or get a tour of the "tough" side of town to show us kids what would happen to us if we didn't get our homework done and failed school. Sunday was family day and we made the best of it.

When something like this happens the places you might have gone to are potentially gone for ever, so get out and have fun while you can, with the ones you love, and make your wagon a big part of the adventures. Your kids and family and relatives will remember that stuff.
