Yup, Heinz, ya just can't go any better. This reminded me of many years back, I invited dad over for home made burgers and fries. I asked if he could pick up a bottle of ketchup, expecting Hienz. Well he decided for what ever reason to save 5 cents and bout Safeway brand katchup.... stuff came out of the bottle like soup, it was soooooooo toxic acidick, should have kept it for rust remover............. but after further testing on veggies (no burgers were hurt, but the fries SCREAMED in pain;)) we found that muriatic acid was 100% safer!

Real poutine is made with gravy, but it is a more flavourful gravy than most people make. Piping hot fries, lots of cheese curds, although sharp cheddar works well, and smothered in gravy! Perfect side to go with a BIG burger.

So, this is what our relationship has come to? FOOD !
Almost like being married. We talk more about food than anything else. When to buy it, what we need, where to go to eat, and "is it ready yet?":rofl2:

I located a little joint a few blocks from my office yesterday that makes great burgers! It's apparently run by a couple of exiled Cape Breton'ers these days but it's been there since the 50's buried in a residential area so it can't be found unless you're looking for it. The 8oz burger on an egg bun was pretty good. All of the patties are made and cooked fresh on order so it's not the speediest but it was worth the wait.

Cyber this is the type places we stopped when traveling and camping. Even now we look for the Mom and Pop diners and rarely are disappointed. Great food, great service, and usually great conversation, all at fair prices.

I have not been there in years, but we have a local out of the way arterie buster burger, fish and chips joint in a residential part of town.......

For almost a year I worked across the street on a new construction elementary school, the home made burgers were awsome...... I owe this place for starting me on the road to Fat!:D

The Mrs and I do the same. I hate using a GPS for road trips because I find that I don't learn how to get there and can't figure out how to get back without using the GPS again. Now I get out my old paper maps to plan my route ahead of time and I always make sure to take a scenic route and stay off of the major highways. The more little towns we pass through, and the more interesting little spots we see, the better!

So many of these places have disappeared because they were on the edge of town and the town or residential areas expanded. We've returned to many old places only to find them replaced by fast food joints, big box stores, and parking lots.
This summer, while back home in Illinois we made it a point to visit several restaurants from our youth with old friends. It was like going back 40-50 years.
If you find an old original place, still operating or closed, they make great photo shots for our old wagons. But I found out it helps to bring a camera. :camera:D'oh!

We lost a great one a few years ago. Unfortunately I had only managed to visit the place once while it was open and I was saddened to show up again one day and see the doors and windows boarded up. It was the last of the ginormous buffet's, at least in this area.

A long-standing mini-golf course and restaurant here in town closed up recently and the land was sold off. Now it's a plaza filled with big box stores, fast food joints, and a cineplex.

It's getting harder and harder to find unique and interesting places to eat.

Wasn't there a country song about the Phantom 309? A guy hitched a ride to a diner and the guys inside told about the Phantom 309 truck driver going over a cliff in a rain storm at night and dying.:yup:
About you going to that Fish and Chip place and only giving here as your address I assumed here must be close to there...as in the Fish and chip place.:49: That does make it rather funny............. at least to me! As your headline states, I'm just trying to help you have a laugh.
