    That's about what the civilian vehicles pressed into military service looked like--no chromium used, everything steel painted the base color of the branch, and Navy rigs had black lettering, Army, Army Air Force and Marine Corps had white lettering. Oh, and all vehicles of any given make and model were doled out in batches, with only one key cut, to fit all the vehicles in the batch!
