Tat. And it even has FINZ, UH-RAHOften thought of doing a "caravan cruise" from Ventura to San Jose 'til I do the Math 'Sides which, The side trips to Paso Robles and Napa Valley would significantly add to the cost of the trip and probably blow out the springz 'n air bags on the way home
Manuals and stuff, eh? Okie dokie. Take this! http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/index.htm And that! http://www.tocmp.com/ http://www.imperialclub.com/index.htm And to really wind you up, check out the original factory Service bulletins, covering all kinds of bits and pieces for those early mopars, not just Chryslers and Imperials, and check out the links. http://www.imperialclub.com/Articles/literature.htm http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/index.htm And something on original factory Service tools (1956): http://www.imperialclub.org/Repair/Lit/1956_Miller_Tool/Page000.htm I guess something about Parts would be nice too: http://www.imperialclub.com/Part/index.htm Now this one has a 'secret' stash of NOS classic Mopar parts: http://henryspartsdepot.com/chrysler-mopar-nos-parts/ and some Non-NOS repro parts for Mopars: You need part numbers though: http://henryspartsdepot.com/non-oem-chrysler-parts/ Which I think you'll find in one of these: http://www.allpar.com/ http://www.moparts.com/index.html I'm the house link fester. Enjoy.
Cruise it or loose it! Oh cool, I am just getting inot trying to find a car club an get a good list of events of cruise nights to weekend events. Hey if you guys know of anything post it! Would love ot get involved. Im in West Covina, CA. So once I get the car all gresed up and raring ot go, I want to hit the roads. Tat~
Its an 8 with the Powerflight trans. I need to get into it to figure which 8 I have. Original motor, and finally figured how to get the details off the block, so that will be this weekend.
You'll find lots of events here on the Forum in the Events and Shows forum. This might give you some clubs with Event listings: http://www.beachcitywagonmasters.com/about.php http://www.longroofs.us/ http://www.painlessperformance.com/CarClubs/carclubs.php Wouldn't want you to lack reading material.
I think it might be too, but I found that there were 3 different ones and my block i know is not the biggest. So I almost want to say its the 240cid
Now if you're really stuck for Links, this should do you for a couple lifetimes. Save this main link, because when you click inside the main panel, you lose the index, to all the other countries. About 110,000 sites. http://www.automotive-links.com/ind/ind.htm
Compared to today's engine castings, those were among the heaviest small 8s ever made. A fully dressed 331 Hemi came in just under 800 lbs. A chevy 283/327 weighed in at about 375 to 400, and those plymouth 8's were like 550 lbs. But could they take a sh!t-kicking (pardon my French) Offenhauser and Edelbrock made a lot of neat goodies for them, back in the day. So you might find some of those in your adventures, and you're in California, close to the main outlets. Should be fun. We had a few 1955 and 1956 Chryslers, but only one 1956 Plymouth, then a 1957 and later a 1958 Crown Imperial. Dad just loved the style and power. I did too.
Now this was a European 1954 Plymouth model that we never saw here. Can you imagine what that design would have done to Mopar if it had come here. The Mustang would never have caught up! This is off of a French car site, on this page: http://www.tuningfever.fr/fr/pics/cat-93-plymouth/index.php Makes you wonder how many other production models we never saw.
