I dunno, but with the Sepulveda segment where everyone's racing down all lanes in one direction, then stopped and the camera car weaving in and out, they must've been dropping acid.

Gasoline contained lead, back then. Maybe, the driver was just inhaling a little California turnpike smog.
    I haven't travelled anywhere for awhile. That's why I haven't updated it.

Oooohhh dang it!!! 60's BMW? But maybe only released in Europe? I happen to like BMW. If the parts weren't so expensive I'd own one. I've worked on several and once you get all your torx and inverted torx and special picks all the other odd tools you might need they are fairly easy to work on. I'm a big fan of the later ignition coil designs where all it takes is the lift of that lever type clip and the whole thing pushes itself off the plug. Very niiiiice. More info besides "the red one". Also I do not like the convertible option as much as that hard top. I feel like I've seen BMW from the 60's and they didn't look like that

I agree, I like the black coupe better. But I could be forced to own the convertible if it was cheap............. very cheap!

The roof of that building being taken over by vines looks amazing.

    That movie is freaky....
In the very first part of the clip, the camera vehicle is going northbound on the San Diego Freeway, approaching National Blvd. This just happens to be one of the exits I could take if I were going to the 'old homestead' in Mar Vista. That would be to the left of the camera vehicle (west direction), about 2 miles away. The next part of the video seems to be from a movie, and it's using the north AND southbound lanes of Sepulveda Bl, which runs right next to the San Diego Freeway. (In some of the shots, you can see the freeway running through the mountains - these are the smallish Santa Monica mountains which are between Los Angeles proper and the San Fernando Valley to the north.

If I'm not mistaken, they built those between 1956 and'59. B.M.W.s Opels and Fords were the easiest German cars to service. Mercedes had tight engine compartments and modern Audis, as well as the 100 LS of the sixties, are, by far, the worst.
I first thought it was a large Alfa Romeo. After you brought it up, I found out it was a B.M.W. 503:

I was thinking Alfa Romeo as well. It's a fine looking automobile nonetheless.

That's a pretty rare car is it not?! I didn't find much on it, but I'm no good at internet searching. I was trying to find a $ value and couldn't come up with anything. Scratch that, google didn't come with anything in the first couple of sites. But I think your right, 56-59' and I believe I read that the plan was to import but they didn't for some reason. I also couldn't find any with a hard top

Those 2 x 1bbl. carbs on a v-8 is an interesting design. It makes sense, if you look at it. All cylinders are fed with equal-lenght intake channels.
They might have just sat back and watched sales of their competitors. Especially, Mercedes and then decided the effort might have been too risky. They only built 478 of them, anyway: http://www.classicweissblau.de/index.php?id=60
I found that link, while Googling BMW 503 for sale, in German:

    https://www.google.nl/search?q=bmw+...QsAQIJQ&biw=1280&bih=914#imgrc=f7TRsmDdqRhmwM

This is one of the shabbiest offered. It has a dual 2-bbl. carb set-up. No price mentioned. The seller might want you to beg for it?:

Back then, you could go to Germany and bring one back, without having to change anything for the U.S..
Here's a classic car dealer not to far where I used to live at. I would never give this guy the prices he's asking for his collection. Who does he think he is?:

Oh my danggit!!! I f-f-freaking love that thing! So 305,000 euros is what? 360,000 us? Not bad considering there is only 478 made. Lemme just get my check book and I'll add this one to cars I dream about but have accepted that my 6'6 body Would never fit in. On second thought the trunk is pretty big, my only chance to ride in one of these would be in itty bitty pieces
