ah memories I had a 74 Gremlin, don't forget the dreaded seat belt interlock system that was mandatory those years (although I doubt that's whats wrong with it, too ez)

 

Good lord I love you guys, CadiPacer was kind enough to send me a PM and I called him on the phone and he let me pick his brain for a bit. Let me tell you what - within 5 minutes it became obvious that the man has probably forgotten more things about AMCs than most people will ever learn in a lifetime!

This has all been such a positive experience for me I really am super grateful.

I am so excited that I feel like Christmas is coming on Friday!

 

Yup....from what little CadiPacer has posted it was pretty obvious he knows his AMC stuff! Really glad for you, Lex...glad I found you to fly for this wagon. I hope my feelings on that engine are correct too. Merry Christmas!!

Tell you what tho, from all the info I got from CadiPacer it really sounds like it wont be too bad at all. In fact it sounds like it will be a lot easier to fix than I had hoped. (Honestly was contemplating just sinking in a new engine of the 401 variety to end around the issue.) He gave me a host of things to look for, and look at, and I am going to find out quick fast and in a hurry when she gets here and restore her to her former glory.

He also gave me a nice lil list of things I can do to take good care of her or even trick her out a lil should I want to go that route. Now that I am a lot less worried about the engine tho, I am thinking I am going to keep her super duper stock.

I dunno yet... but fun times ahead deciding boys, ... fun times ahead!

LOL....save your money for the wagon, Lex! You will want to do a lot of things to it when you get it. One thing always leads to another when working on your pride & joy. Don't know about the engine yet either. Although, my guess is that it's not a big issue problem. I can't WAIT for you to get it! More PIX when you do!!
