The seats are in excellent condition, but the low-back seats are a little uncomfortable for the middle of my back. Driving from Fort Worth was a 225-mile trip. They were not uncomfortable, but they definitely were not Escalade seats, either. I've sat in the back seat, as well, and it would not be real comfy for a long trip. Late-model seats from a GM SUV are a possible addition for later on. But for now, the originals will do fine.

There is a fellow in Lethbridge, Alberta, who has a huge collection of IHC's. He goes right back to the beginning. He owns the IHC dealership. He has a vintage parts business for IHC's.

Go here, then select George's toys.

Just my :2cents: but some times you should just leave things as is when it comes to older...:). My 65 truck has the factory bench and it was...IT IS the worst thing to drive in. I bout Bucket seats that have recline etc from a saffari/astro van but just can't and never did install them for the fact of taking away to much origonal. I totally can relate to the back and discomfort but went with seat cushions that came from the back seat of a mini mazda truck. they look like...well seat cushions but provide comfort and in a second are thrown in the back so the truck still looks aa stock as possible.

But if thats not your gig,,,I have a pair of mint Buckets with seat belts for cheap:rofl2:

Thanks for that link to the Alberta IH dealer! He has a LOT of rare stuff, and what a great selection of NOS parts! He has the windshield seal for my wagon, plus some other little things that I need/want. Cool!

It is always tough to lose a friend, even tougher to deal with their "stuff" afterward, because it is so personal. But, that said, I have a hunch he's cruising in another Nomad right now. You just get that feeling, you know what I mean? And fortunately for me, there are others in the vintage trailer and car group who are very involved as well. It is nice to know they would do the same for us when that time comes.

Glad to help out with the IH stuff. George is known as an upfront kind of guy.

Took some well-deserved vacation time this week; and among doing all kinds of $h!t around the house, I got the International cleaned up nice, and waxed it, too. Tried my hand with a clay bar on the initial detail after washing. I was pleased at the difference it makes on that faded yellow paint. The truck really could stand a new paint job, but I can live with what I have for now.

After the clay bar, I used some polishing compound and then some good, old-fashioned Turtle Wax on it. The whole thing took maybe two hours to do by hand. Have yet to get to the roof, but it can wait, for the moment.

It's taken a little time to get used to the "leisurely" acceleration rate of this, compared to all of the other Diesel pickups I've ever owned (four), but it is what it is. I have yet to see another Travelall on the road since getting mine. Filled it up a couple of days ago, and am averaging 20.9 mpg in city/hwy combined. Figure a gasser would get half that!

I think they can be considered a wagon myself. They place station wagons in Classic Truck magazine.
