    I have enjoyed reading this thread and can't help but call to mind my own personal experiences as a teacher for the last 11 years. I have always worked in an elementary school teaching music to students in grades one through five which range in age from about 6 to 10/11. I am in the unique position of working with all 500 students in my school each year, so over the years I have had several thousand cross the threshold of my classroom which I still enjoy but with much more pre-mature gray hair than most 32-year olds. (at least it hasn't fallen out yet)

    It became evident to me long ago that in our society today we most definitely have individuals that could be classified as either givers or takers. This really has nothing to do with politics, race, gender, etc...it seems to be evident in all walks of life. I think many true station wagon enthusiasts are givers by nature. The cars we drive represent the love of family and good old fashioned American values and traditions that seem to be less evident these days. It is easy, at least for me, to lose my cool and burn off some steam periodically when I feel bombarded by people who just don't seem to give a rat's behind, like the parent of a student I am trying to get moving in the right direction.

    Maybe we should have a secret meeting with our wagons out on a mountainside somewhere.....

    Givers and takers - very true. Anyone ever read the book "Ishmael"? Ishmael classified people as takers and leavers.

    I'm all for this. But let's wait till at least Spring and chose a mountainside with real roads. All of us don't have 4-wheel drive Jeeps. ;)

    Actually mine is a garage ornament right now. I think I need a new old style Crager five spoke. The new tire won't hold air.
    But someday I might be able to go mountain climbing like 59Wagon.

    Just when I thought you were a sour puss you turn into a softy cat. OK ditto what the others said. Givers, takers, comers, goers we welcome them all regardless...right?

    By the way this meeting on the mountain it's not the same one that Deweys naked girls go swimming on is it? I just don't want to show them up...:D

    That's Clampett, Sir :mad: When you write "Clampit" that sounds like a tall order for something a little odd. Like OldFox and his curve-cutting episodes, you likely had yer mind on something completely different. Depending on who you have around you, mentioning that word out loud might get you in a heap of trouble, if that someone were to take you up on that misunderstood suggestion, Sir

    :rofl2::rofl2:HA HA!:yahoo:

    Yes, everyone is welcome, I hope. After all we've been accepted!:49:

    As for Hans????? I'm sorry I did mispell Clampett, as in Jed. But whatever else you were rambling on about I am even more confused than I am usually confused.:)

    Maybe I was wrong in complaining but where are some of those new members who stopped in to buy, sell, or rebuild station wagon? Are they having fun and spreading cheer and information like many of you?

    No offense taken. When I first logged on the forum a couple of weeks ago I never detected any ill feelings from you or anyone. I did ask what the ballpark value of my Dad's '72 Estate Wagon was, but only after doing a brief introduction. It was not a hard sell, just a question of what it was worth when I come around to selling it next year and more importantly to just share the vehicle to this forum. I think you guys picked up on that. To be honest with you, I do not know when you were tough on anyone in the forum. I must have missed it.
