Wow, what a collection of critters! You must have quite a piece of property, to have them all, plus a fishpond! The cats must go into a trance staring at the fish too. Love them all. Do you talk to the animals like Dr Doolittle does? Chewie and Obi-Wan look like littermates. Love orange cats.
Petra and Summer both passed away last year both at age 12 Tony the Tiger. The beginning of a long story… Tony and Catalina. Tony and Catalina’s babies. Tony and Catalina were neighborhood strays. We were down to these two but they finally were adopted as a pair to a good family. We kept Tony. Arlo and Mila. He’s 2 years old she is about 5 months old in this picture. Crush. We adopted him from a shelter about 6 years ago. And my baby…
Thanks. It’s been a long year. I miss the little guys , we’ve fostered for a local rescue called Cat Network for many years but these two came to us directly. Tony used to come around all beat up but never let us near him. Then he brought Catalina. Last winter was rough so I lured him into the garage. She came willingly. It’s all good!
Correct! Catalina was fixed and adopted out even before the kittens. We raised them until they were big enough to be fixed and adopted out by the network. We have our original two cats and Tony now. Arlo was fixed and Mila’s surgery is on Thursday. Both needed to be re-homed.
I hope that Mila's surgery goes well and that she has a full recovery, Paul has loved German Shepherds ever since his days of the Kenner Duke Action Dog. He wishes he still had it. See below: VINTAGE 1974 KENNER DUKE RESCUE UNIT AND ALSO INCLUDES DUKE AND BOX STILL WORKS | eBay
This is little Cali. She barely made it thru the surgery. Spent 2 weeks of sleepless nights holding her. We we had to take her to the vet every day for that period to monitor her. She was adopted by our daughter who’s away at Mo. State.
Ooh, I absolutely adore her! So glad she's OK now. I have two calico sisters which I adopted from 4 Paws Cat Rescue, via Petco (our local Petcos have cat adoption events on the weekends). Their names are Shiloh and Katey. I'll try to post pictures of them.
Our kittens rescue Cat Network worked with Petco and they attended those events too. Most of this batch went to friends as they were involved from birth and were able to see them growing up.
Yup, they are the twins. After an elderly cat passed, we intended to get back to having 4 cats. They were best buddies and we decided to keep them together. Such is the reason we have 5 cats.
Shelters over here let future owners decide. Besides that, they are funded as charities. Therefore, "fixing" animals would put a strain on their budgets. Since dog ownership is subject to taxation, there isn't such a feralling problem that they'd have in lesser-developped countries, given that these dogs are publically registered. Of course, there are always those who attempt avoiding taxation. I know a lady who has two small dogs and has only registered one. If she gets caught, she'll be facing a fine of which she'll never forget. The only case of mandatory "fixing" that would make sense would be to curtail illegal breeding of which concerns only highly-valuable pedigrees. Most of this sort of breeding takes place in foreign countries which have lax regulations concerning, if any at all
