As fall is here, our Oak, Apple, Cherrie and 2 different Maple trees are shedding. Yesterday Deb and I spent the afternoon doing yard work mowing and raking up a dozen industrial garbage bags full of leaves. The one Maple as of a few days ago was still thinking it's summer as all it's leaves were still 'fresh' so to say. I took one off and pressed it under some books and then oven dried it at low temp this AM. At it's widest tip, it's 15 inches. I also took a pic with a pen and a quarter for size. I'm going to mail it to my Dad who lives in Latvia on the Baltic Sea as he tells me no one really believes how big these leaves can get..... and I have seen much larger.





He can't travel any more, and I can't travel to see him. Was a od feeling summer not having him come for a visit this year. Had a good chat with him on the phone a few days ago so I thought he would like this, No, I know he will like this!

Good thing you took pictures with that ruler. I can't remember ever seeing Maple leaves that large. Adam would be safe with that thing.

 

Ya notice the driver usually wears a helmet no matter how many other adults and kids are riding?
