I was afraid someone might ask about that...

It's still at the upholstery shop. They've had it for a while.
We're hoping it will be ready to be picked up soon. The snow won't last for ever.

You should be down there, 'cracking the whip,' as it were.

Well, you inspired me. I called em this afternoon to ask them how things are going.
They said they hope to have it done in a couple of weeks.
So, I guess we'll see how that goes.

I'd be very leery of letting my car just sit at a shop for any undetermined amount of time....
We've got one member in Australia who's had his clamshell at a body shop in southern California for two years.......

Marshal, you have a very good point. Fortunately we have a very good relationship with this particular shop, and there are a number of extenuating circumstances. They said it should be ready in two weeks. That is reasonable for us.

I couldn't imagine asking a shop half a world away to work on something for me.

To me California is half a world away and we've moved half way there recently to Illinoizz. The old guy next door who works on cars is almost too far!
To me "down under" is getting under my blankie in bed.

I remember reading about this place, it was in South Seattle, IIRC. I don't know if anyone else tried this around the country, but having this where the lion's share of B-17s were built during the war was very cool.

So I'm really upset. Some @$$hat that was running from the cops sideswiped my Exploder. Minor damage to the bumper and lights, but it just irks me that it happened and I cannot afford to fix it.

    I love this.

I believe this is the B-17 that was the "Bomber Service station" which was in Milwaukie Oregon.

OK, I thought it was in South Seattle, but we lived in Tigard in '68, and I was 3 years old then, so that may be where I saw it.

And P-51 restorers cannot find enough parts to cobble a complete one together these days....

    HA!
How many of us STOOD UP in the front seat as dad was driving? Our 'seat belt' was dad's 'strong' arm instantly darting out to keep us in place on a quick stop.
I know my dad never got any physics lessons over the years. He thought it was all perfectly acceptable. Luckily, for all involved - no crashes with us kids like that.
