Back then, the crane operator didn't care. Dad told me about an incident in the late Fifties when he was stationed at NAS Alameda. One of the fleet carriers had come home, and the pier was lined with dependents, waiting for their sailors to come ashore. So Dad's Seabee crew was tasked with providing a crane and operator to put the gangplanks up between the ship and pier. So they hook up the Quarterdeck gangplank, and the operator revs up and begins lifting it. Up, up, up...up...um going too far up...oh, s#!t, it's at the top!!!!!! Essentially, the lift drum was stuck in 'Drive' and it grabbed the end of the boom and folded the boom back over the cab! So Dad had to call to the shop and get another crane down pierside to do the honors. The dependents were glued in place and didn't run, but it could've been disastrous. Needless to say, the ship's company and the dependents HATED Seabees that day....

Ditto what he said and I would like to point out they are all men. The only woman I see is walking passed the whole thing. :D

Now why didn't I think of that? Royal Stewart tartan on a Colony Park, done by car wrap, trim, color and tartan pattern!

On a separate note, I just realized, today is the third anniversary of me having to quit work because of my bad heart. No wonder why I slept until two and didn't go outside despite the sunny day; I was feeling a bit depressed. I hate this.
