Today we went to our local Wally-World for groceries. First thing I saw just inside the doors besides shopping carts were Christmasie signs proclaiming Chirstmas is Dec 25th. Up and down the isles with care were Christmas candies, toys, and other Christmasie crap on sale.
I reached for a bag of original pretzels with salt, not to be confused with fat-free, no salt, low cal, tasteless, dietary, tofuu pretzels. Right next to those were Christmas pretzels with bell shaped, tree shaped, and various other Christmasie shaped pretzels.
No where did I see any horns of plenty, turkeys, or other Thanksgiving things. Next week SanteeClause will probably be ringing his crappy bell and playing Christmas music so I will donate all of my hard earned change so some poor orphan boy in Outer Kucamonga can eat tonight.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and get off my lawn!:stirthepot:

I wouldn't be playing that game, at all. I'm a 'no hot sauce' guy - very mild palate.

It's one of those things in life that confounds me, you know, like how do sewing machines work?
Every body in my family goes (referring to spicy hot food), "This is delicious! It has so much flavor!" I do not understand that at all. To me, hot, spicy food doesn't have any 'flavor' at all - it just makes my mouth burn. How can that be a pleasing sensation? So, this escapes me.........

The 'mild' salsa in the jar - that's me. Depending on the brand, I can tolerate the 'medium' stuff for a few bites, but that's about it. My daughter makes some excellent (supposedly) home-made salsa, but I can't even try it.

Krash, are you one of those people who cannot get past the reaction of pain, such as getting a shot from a hypo needle? For a small number of the population, certain things give an adverse reaction to pain. Since the reaction to Capsaicin (the chemical that causes the pain reaction from hot peppers) is a pain response, that may be the reason why you can't stand it.

Nope, don't think that's it, since I inject myself with insulin at least 3X's a day..... not a problem at all. (Of course, shooting insulin is not the same as shooting an immunization or something similar. Those docs use big-a$$ needles, while I use a very tiny 1/2 inch 30 gauge.....you can hardly feel it.)

The reaction I get in my mouth from something very spicy is just an overall burning sensation, and it covers, for the most part, any 'flavor' I would be getting from the food. People say eating spicy food is a pleasurable experience for them. I get no pleasure at all.
