    I bet the buyer STILL had to pay money to get that truck.

    That Roller was just another 30-year-old used car then.

    There is a level of insanity in that camper that I can really appreciate!!!

    Nowadays, that would require solid guardrails all around, dozens of safety stickers and warnings; and some sort of inflatable device below in case little Johnny decided to leap off the 12'-high platform to his death...or at least require bicycle helmets and kneepads! Of course, this puny 1967 GMC 2500 Camper Special would never be permitted to haul such a beast - it would mandate a dually Diesel pickup, as that is the only pickup available these days with an actual eight-foot bed to slide it into!

    I dunno. Around that time was when Concours restorations were just starting to take off, as well as any Rolls is a hand-built car, even these days. Besides, it was a touring sedan. The pickup was a cowboy touring sedan.

    ????

    ================
    Not sure why you think the 8' boxes are out or why a C2500 would be "puny"?

    I personally have a 92 C2500 with 8.5' flatbed that just last year I hauled 2.5 tons of gravel per load numerous times before concreting my driveway.

    The F-250 and F-350 models are available in Regular Cab, Extended Cab and Crew Cab body styles. The Regular Cab features two doors and a singe row of seating, the Extended Cab adds a small second row of seating and the Crew Cab has four doors and an expanded rear cabin area. All three can be outfitted with either a 6.75- or 8-foot bed.

    Kinda been looking at RV's for some time now, looked at several, test drove a couple and last week took ownership via no $ down and a hand shake deal for a 76 Ford 460 Vanguard for a very good deal IMO, AKA "Red Neck Rampage". Went and paid the seller the other day and did the paper work. Having some work done to it at the moment and should have it in my driveway next week Tuesday...........BTW, seller has wagons! Magnum wagon and a 64 Rambler wagon....and 2 dogs...what are the chances????:biglaugh:

    When I was a kid, we had a 1969 F350 Crew Cab Camper Special with a deluxe Kit camper that was so long, it needed extension framerails to hold the rear of the camper. But the point I wanted to make was that that truck was not a dually, nor did it have wide tires, but it never was a leaner, and Dad was a Seabee/CEC officer, so he knew how to drive loaded vehicles. It never felt like it wanted to fall over or blow sideways in a wind.
