I remember about 10+ years ago when this happened, I saw them in Florida!
I was alone at the lake house, and even got Chicago TV for about an hour.
It was like I was living in the Twilight Zone! :49:

We were in the city this weekend and didn't see anything.
    Phones work fine..

No northern lights but I did see a rather large shooting star just before the sky went dark and that got me thinking about KK's post.

I guess Friday I was in the zone, completely clear night and I was up and outside late but didn't see a thing......

Best ones I've seen have been far North on the mainland many years back close to the Alaska/Yukon borders, Now that's where (and even further up ) the sky can dance with colour for hours. It's a very..... you just get hypnotized by the beauty as it's constantly moving like it's alive.

    Some pics from the net...........

    The "normal" zone.

Nice pictures. We had another Florida thunderstorm. I couldn't see anything except lightning. No stars, no lights, no internet. :slap:

Just imagine the complete destruction if any brand new car of today went off the truck like this!

    ^^^

That was on the dealer's front line later that day. Front bumper looks hardly damaged.

Need to tie those cars down, George........

    It's a '50's Mopar.
Didn't they all come with a crooked bumper, or loose trim, or a leak anyway? :rofl2:

I'd rather fish off the bank in that river above.
