Got this for free back in October. It's a 1985 Yamaha YFM200 4x2 quad, Yamaha's first four wheel ATV. Runs pretty wheel, 5 speed with reverse. Technically it needs a starter because it won't start off the electric start when cold. Can only be pull started. After it's warmed up a little it usually fires up again. Was very fun in the southern winter storms this year along with my Baja Motorsports go kart.

GTW several neighbors down here and many around the tri-county area, have four wheelers. At my young age I'd never been on one. Just never had the chance.
Last summer we were visiting our son-in-law's parents in the central Illinois boonies where they have what they call "the shop". They live in the front part in summers and the large rear is big enough to park two tractor trailer rigs side by side. They have every heavy duty tool and roll away imaginable, plus several custom BBQ grilles. The place is a dream shop!
Well, they party a lot and many of the people who come are closer to our daughter and her husbands age, 40's. Dave senior is still a kid himself, even though he's not young. One of their favorite passtimes is getting a bunch of guys on his four 4-wheelers and riding down the abandoned RR bed to the river to THINK. The RR bed is around 30' above the bottom land which often floods.
I went with them last July to think also. Every four wheeler had two guys on board plus a regular Jeep full. I rode behind daddy Dave. My first 4-wheeler trip ever up and down gullies, the old RR bed, and part of the tressle that used to cross the river.
It was fun and we sat staring at the river THINKING for an hour. This thinking involved brown bottles and conversation. We were behind the Jeep on the return trip and took an alternate trail thru the bottom land. The jeep drove over a fairly large fallen log. Daddy Dave followed on the 4-wheeler, part way. Got hung up on the big log and had to get towed back off.

I can hardly wait to ride the 4-wheeler and THINK again this summer.:drink:

I have land to make myself a nice little party/gathering place, but it needs clearing. One acre, which is plenty of room.

What's neat about the inlaws place is beyond their five acres are several large farm fields and that old RR bed. All the neighbors share the trails they made through the woods and all get along. Most of where we went belongs to others. But they all keep the trails clear and the garbage picked up. Most of the four wheelers had a basket for empties.

Phantom, our five acres looks just like that. Except for the snow and we have palm trees!
