Does this moving van that was at Hershey on Saturday qualify as a panel truck?

Who cares what they are? Love them all. What's amazing is how few larger trucks are still left. I suppose because few people have room to work on them and store them.

Naughty truck, indeed, Sir. Lots of exposed, naked, and skin-colored sheetmetal. Maybe, I should have titled this thread, "Panel Porn", afterall

That's not just any little bread truck, Mike - that's a Helms Bakery truck. These little trucks were a big part of Southern California's moving scenery in the 50's, 60's and into the 70's. The big Helms Bakery building was on Venice Bl. in Culver City. The building is still there, and in fact, some people have got together recently and are reopening the Helms Bakery (in a smaller form - no bread trucks), using the original recipes.

A lot of Southern Californians (me included) have fond memories of jumping in the Helms truck when it stopped, the driver pulling out a drawer full of fantastic donuts for sale.

The Peterson Museum has one of the Helms trucks on display.

I believe the little truck had a DIVCO chassis, by the way.

Marshall click on the thread and read it. Very interesting even if that darned gal kept getting in the way. Seriously it would be better for adds like these to not put models in them.
Even StorminNorman woke up for this one.:D

I'd imagine that if they sold donuts they also sold cakes.

She's saving the skillet for the skillet toss contest. And I'm busy studying the bread truck. ;)
