Re #886: like the hand on he door handle and the somewhat dressy clothes. Bet she took good care of that car.
So Doghead, do you know what happened to that VW (I assume it was a beetle) in that race at Contra Costa Speedway? By the way folks, the date of this race was June 5, 1955, according to the newspaper! ...................................................................................................... Found out that Contra Costa Speedway was soon surrounded by new home development, and was closed for good after the 1960 race season. A new freeway was built right on top of the property. Here's a current pic of the area from Google Earth. The freeway is the 680, going through Contra Costa County. The small community where the raceway was located is now called 'Pacheco'. The raceway was at a position right in the center of the pic, where you see the tag, 'Medina Dr.'
Morgan has had her VW out last couple weekends. She went to a Trunk or Treat car show that had 117 cars show up. Her Thing was a big hit with the kids and adults. She even got a top 50 plaque. This past weekend she went to Buggin' the Big Easy VW Charity show with about 75 VW's showing up.
