I found this on YouTube, it was made in 1960. BTW, as another satellite factory is featured, the narrator refers to the Type II Transporter as a "station wagon," among other versions of the Type II.
Oh, I remember that, also. We had two dealers we could take our Bug to, and both had them, but only one had the VW 'master craftsman' sign, as it was on U.S. 99/SR 99. Long-gone now, which historically is a bummer, but that dealer owns and displays a late Forties Type 1 (grey-blue color, correct Continental tires and semaphore signal arms) that I should stop by and get pics of.
Those of us who lived in that time will remember those great VW ads. They, in a sense, created an entire culture arouund VWs. IMO, Apple patterned their early marketing after VW's.
I missed the VW ads, but remember the Apple ads. Looking at all of the material that's been shared over the years, I would say that's a very accurate assessment.
