Not a wagon, but I think I can make something out of it. This is a '70 Plymouth Satellite. It has a 318 with a 904 Torqueflite tranny. I have located a 360 with a 727 to replace these. This thing still has a points distributor! Probably will upgrade to Mopar electronic ignition, however. Got to have some 15" rims. Just happen to have one last set of 15X7 cop rims in the barn. Also, if I can find a donor car, the manual drum brakes will also be swapped out with some front discs. I don't really care if they are manual or power.

 

Looks like a good start for a resto. Is that rear bumper's chrome peeling off?

I thought the mopars of the day shared bigger drums too, up to 11". At least for the rears, unless you can get rear discs too for a decent $$$.

Two round tailpipes to match the backup lamps would look very nice.

 

Yeah........the chrome is coming off the rear bumper. Hope to find another one. I don't know what size brakes it has. I had a Challenger with 11"X3" on the front. These are probably 10". As for the tailpipes, I plan to run 2 1/2" duals and leave the tips tucked up under the rear bumper, somewhat like the cop cars had. I like the "sleeper" look. The only rust on the car is a little around the windshield and back glass. There is a small spot just behind the right rear tire. Other than that, it is solid, much more so than other Mopar B bodies of the era.

 

You keep this up and I'm moving near ya. Sweet 70 it will make a great sleeper

 

Come on over.............As soon as I get the 360 ready to drop in, we'll have at it. I have been hooked on sleepers since I saw a plain little 4 door Valiant on a car lot years ago. Popped the hood and there sat a 340! I will have some good-sounding exhaust, but not too loud. Other than that and maybe a little lope from the cam, it will not give any hint of performance.

Thats nice and yeah, the cop rims would look good. You did'nt mention, vented dog dishes or plain?

 

I am about 10 miles from Long Beach, southeast of Wilmington.

I have the vented caps and a set of trim rings. I never use the rings. I should have let the vented caps go with the Volare, as it had a set of stainless steel Plymouth Motor Division caps.........Oh well, too late now.

Hmmm, I'm guessing Plymouth offerd at least 2 styles of tail lites for 70. These lites have a trim ring in them.

I live in Midway between Winston Salem and Lexington.

 

I think the Sport Satellite and Road Runner had a piece of moulding that ran across the center of the lens. There is another pair of lights in the trunk. I don't know if they are the same as on the car. I will check tomorrow.

 

Snake: You're not too far away. I was in Concord a couple weeks ago checking on a '77 Olds Omega. Turned out to be a rust bucket. Nice trip, anyhow. My best buddy lives in Kannapolis, so enjoyed a visit with him.

 

How far of a drive is that?
