to the wagon train Bonney66. That is a beauty! One of my all time favorite wagons. Glad you found us and thanks for the great pix!
Welcome! This is a sweet place to be, even for us swedes. Amazingly how welcome and appreciated you feel here!
To make a long story short, "Grandprix63" is my internet-ID on a blog I have. It comes from the car I owned until recently. It was a 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix. You can take a look at the blog here: http://www.grandprix63.blogspot.se/ I write about and shows old pictures of 50's & 60's cars, ads, gasstations and other things I find interresting along with new photos from various classic carshows I visit. The blog is in Swedish but you can always look or use Googles translation gadget, even if it's not that accurate. Here's a pic of the old car, that I had for tvelwe years. Here are all the posts on my blog labelled "Stationsvagn", the Swedish word for station wagon: http://grandprix63.blogspot.se/search/label/Stationsvagn More wagons will be added
Anders, That is my favorite year of Grand Prix, I just love that body style and luxury interior design. What a beauty you had! I bet you miss it. I know I would.
Well, I'm not missing it yet. Have been busy with the new wagon but I did have a lump in my throat when I waved it goodbye when it rolled of the drive way. At the same time I was glad because I was so tired of it I had to sell and buy another car.
For twelve years. I bought it in may 2001. Drived it for one summer and took it apart and replaced the engine, tranny, suspension and a few other things. Added the scallops and some pinstriping after a few years but most of all I drove it I added 55,000 miles to the odometer on the last seven years I had it but I have a Volvo as a daily driver and in the six months of wintertime
Glad to hear you were able to get a lot of use from it. Your Bonneville wagon is really nice as well. So,, I guess it's okay. You sure know how to pick them. Nice Pontiacs...
Holy Smokes. That is beautiful Grand Prix. Best looking year by far. Your blog is an awesome site. I love the design. How hard is it to get these parts? I had a hard time finding suspension parts for my '64 and I am in the US.
Suspension parts is easy to get. We got a number of partsdealers who has a lot of "wear and tear parts" (brakeparts, bushings, shocks and so on) on the shelf. US import of course. Body parts and interior details is more difficult. But with the internet the tings you need is only a mouseclick away. It's expensive though, import tax and custom fees and so on brings up the prices. And there are people who make hard to get parts, such as dashpads and steering wheels for Pontiac.
brother dont ask me why...but ive always had a thing for the 66-67 Pontiacs just always thought they were great styling
