Welcome to the forums Datsun411! I have never seen a 60s Datsun wagon before. You guys are lucky to live in an area that dose not go bonkers over road salt. My first and only Japanese car, was a '78 Toyota Corolla wagon from Oregon. I bought it for, I think around $200 back in 2000. I grew up in the subs of Chicago, so I never had seen one before. The Toyota made its tour from Oregon here to Chicago and the owners bought a Ford Focus, so they did not the little trooper anymore.
I remember when a FINA gas station was the only dealer in Oshawa and Toronto (circa 1966), where the BIG 3 had their Canadian plants. Dealers were too scared to upset the big unions! Great condition for an early Datsun.
Awesome...I am a huge fan of the small wagons.....next purchase is a "Honda wagovan" Welcome.....I say you throw a small block in it lol
...nice lil Fairlady...i used to have one a million years ago too...and 71 Bullet ex cab too....best stereo i ever had was in that truck... sorry...reminising......
Up here, the GTO and Firebird guys got so miffed when a B210 or 240Z passed them that they'd say another DatSun Of a B, got away!
Knew a guy in my yout who had a 2000 Roadster (this was when they were fairly new) - was a very cool little car.
It's been YEARS since I have seen one of those cool "Lil wagons and was no where near the shape yours looks. Please post some more pics when you get a chance
"First up, an examination of why Nissan probably chose to retain the name “Datsun” when they committed to the United States market in 1960. Aaker suggests that the reason involves Japan and WWII. This perspective says the corporate choice favored “Datsun” to distance the parent factory Nissan’s association by Americans with Japanese WWII military manufacture." “The decision to change the name Datsun to Nissan in the U.S. was announced in the fall of 1981. The rationale was that the name change would help the pursuit of a global strategy. A single name worldwide would increase the possibility that advertising campaigns, brochures, and promotional materials could be used across countries and simplify product design and manufacturing." http://www.zcca.org/pages/ZCarsZhistoryDatsuntoNissan.htm
