Given the typical age of attenders, beer yes, naked - absolutely bloody scary is anyone did. There'd be a hunt on for Sasquatch running loose. Thanks Fanny - it was outstanding. We were amazed at how many different trailers there were between the two events. And very different types of events, one very informal (Roslyn) and the other quite a bit more structured. Both great, just different in approach. I've got my pics downloaded to the computer but have been swamped with trying to get the wagon done for a trip week after next. Priorities you know? And of course SOMEONE thought the lawns should be mowed and after almost two weeks and all the moisture while we were gone it was like an old time hay harvest. At least we have a long weekend so I can catch up - oh wait a minute, every weekend is a long weekend for some of us. I almost forgot. The sad thing is that the week isn't any longer once you don't do the daily work routine.
A Facebook friend, Marten Carllson, posted several hundred pictures on his Facebook page of this month's Wings and Wheels car show in Sweden. Although its pretty much a 50's to 70's era American car show, late 50's American cars of all makes outnumber muscle cars at this huge show. One of the pictures he posted looked like it would fit in well in this thread even though its from a show thats half a world away. After seeing all his photos, I think they have more 58 & 59 Oldsmobiles and more late 50's Dodges and more 58-61 Chryslers, Imperials and DeSotos in Sweden, than we have left in all of North America. I think I've decided to add this show to my bucket list. 58 Olds Fiesta towing a camping trailer.
Gotta have mirrors that stick out far enough to see around the trailer. In the US, we would have had the trailer towing mirrors hanging out from the front fenders.
I love that trailer - very neat and unique. Something like that over here would be a real show stopper. Great pictures, thanks for posting them. The vintage car and trailer hobby is much bigger in Europe than most people realize. Ah yes, those mirrors. An interesting way to mount them. I'd never thought of doing it that way. I don't think I could do that to my wagon, but then again I also don't have a roof rack to hang it off of. Thats a good thing....a very good thing. Those folks look like they are having fun.
True, that HH is stunning. Heavy as heck, wide at a full 8 feet, but it is an outstanding trailer done right and he keeps doing trick things to it to make it even better. What will be even better is when he starts towing it with his '58 Edsel wagon.
WOW....I didn't realize that it is 8 feet wide! That's not easy to pull around! I's do it, though....love that trailer. Oh Yeah....pulling it with the Edsel will be uber cool!
Those mirrors make sense. They mount to the roof rack instead of taking a chance on damaging the paint on the front fenders with the clip on trailering mirrors. You do need mirrors that extend past the width of the trailer one way or another.
Sorry....that particular set up does not make sense to me. EDIT: OH....wait....just looked at it again. He IS using the roof rack. OK...I'll give it a C.
yup....i had to put fender mirrors on mine...and still could barely see around mine that a cool setup....wicked combo thanx for the pics Jim
