So I was in Gunnison, CO from Wednesday night to Friday morning. When I left, it was lightly snow flurrying, but in crossing Monarch Pass on US 50, the snow was coming down like crazy. Add in blowing wind, and the drive up and over was a *spit* show. And after I got over, the pass was closed.....
Just went over Snoqualmie pass on Sunday. It was snowing like crazy up there too. The calendar says it's spring, but don't tell that to the mountains.
I went over Snoqualmie Tuesday morning, and saw something I had never, ever seen in all my years of living in Washington State...there was a sheet of ice on Lake Kacheelus!
