She doesn't know the difference...Dad was born in Aurora, IL and had his first six years in Superior, WI, but he absolutely loves Seattle, and had it not been for the Great Depression, he would've been born here in Seattle.
Our youngest was almost five when we moved from central Illinois to Florida. He really doesn't remember winters there either. I was but a young lad when mom and dad moved us to Portland during the war...................... WWI I think! All I remember is rain.... rain ... and rain plus grape vines and rain. I also remember a big body of water full of ships, fog, and yea rain!
When Dad was in Vietnam ('68-'69), we lived in Tigard, at the top of the hill above Portland, just off Interstate 5. I also remember the rain at three years old.
Kids were smarter back then. Our 26 year old doesn't even remember snow or winters in Illinois when he was nearly five.
It's really lookin more like winter here. Last week when we shipped my cars to Illinois it was 90 and everyone was complaining about the heat. Now they're back in the midwest complaining they need more heat! It's dropped down to 62 degrees right now and by next week we'll see 32 a few nights. I might need one of those Artic Cats! I'll take the black T.
We are having an storm today, I'm enjoying a cozy evening in the house but poor hubby had to go to work. It wasn't to bad when he left but it's going to be nasty when he has to come home around 3:00am...it worries me. Well, I thought I should post a few pics from a pervious storm, we got about 9". We also had some company this morning before the snow started, 6-8 deer enjoyed a good feed just feet from the house all morning.
How appropriate your ruler says "buffalo" on it, considering how much they tend to get each year (I'm originally from Rochester). Love the pics!
