:lolup:Yippy Scott. :D You and I don't really know each other much yet. But been agitating you lately----and yes, worried about you. Glad your wife finally saw the light and understands you will all be better off here in the USA! Making each other happy is the most important thing in life. (y)
Personally we love the Smokey Mountain region. But goofed and moved to the poor part of Florida. No work here on the west central side which is okay when you are retarded. But our 22 year old mechanic son is finding out work is hard to find and keep.
Sounds like you have a plan. Hope it works out. Can't be any worse and anywhere you drive won't take so damned long to get someplace.
    Good luck Blackfoot.

    thats sad....
had i known it was gonna turn out that way i'd have told you to bring it to my house and i'd have thrown it on craigslist for you.
may the spirit of the longboard ride the concrete waves forever!

if you want another let me know when your ready. my buddy mike has one for sale (its $3500) but its a 96 limited with 77k on the clock white/wood. fresh tires and radiator bad news....R title. but we have full doc and we are friends with the guy whom owned it/wrecked it. it was still driveable after the wreck so it wasnt too bad and it was rebuilt by our club as a group project.

That's great news Black! You tried it, it wasn't what you thought it would be. But you wouldn't have known unless you tried. It'll be great being closer to your family.

Sorry to hear about your wagon.

    Are you healing ok?

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

Jim 68cuda, yup, we are gonna be kinda neighbors.

Cat, I have been to Fl more then I care to admit, I spent 2 summers in Gainesville, Trenton, Belle area and a summer in Ocala. My brother was one of the head mechanics at the HUGE Chevy dealer in Ocala back in the mid 80's. The first summer, he lived in Gainesville and then moved to Trenton and we had lifelong family friends who used to be our neighbors in NY that lived in Belle, so when he was at work, I went to play withe their son Billy who was my age. The second summer, he lived in Ocala and that was really boring there for me. I was home alone everyday and nothing but retired folks around, no kids to play with. he following summer I refused to go down because he still lived in the same place. I been back several times, to Orlando, Spent a winter in the Keys helping my uncle who goes down there in winter to rebuild houses and boat docks that get wiped out every year from the storms. I was divorced from my first wife and my 2 oldest sons were still young. I made a pocketfull of cash that summer and did alot of sailing and fishing with my uncle. That was the best memories I have of FL. Then I went and spent 2 weeks in St. Petersberg visiting my other brother 2 years ago, got stuck in a bunch of nasty hurricane weather and said I have had enough of this state to last me a lifetime.

Ian, I will not have that kind of money for a very long time. I want to spend no more then a grand on a beater truck and no more then 2 grand on a car for the wife and kids when I have it saved up.

Fannie, I am still hurting, I sneezed earlier and was in tears. Its still a real b*tch to move around, carry anything and to get into and out of bed. I think its getting better then I sneeze and it puts me right back to a 7 out of 10 pain level.

Stef, I sure hope so, the last year of my life was for the birds! But with great friends like all of you, its still good to be alive and on here. You all make me feel better with the breeze shooting and funny stories.

Scott, I am happy that you are coming back home. It took courage and tenacity to make the move last year, and you did it to please your wife, so don't view that as a mistake. You did what you needed to do. And now you both have a better appreciation for what "home" is all about. I'm happy for you, brother! David :)

They'll not be retiring for many more years. Mom's only 46 and Dad's 52, that is, unless we hit the lotto and can retire early lol! We have been looking at Texas and Florida. I'm a bit partial to Georgia.

It doesn't sound like your family did much wrong to your brother. Sad story. It's good they keep it behind closed doors, though. That kinda thing can make anybody uncomfortable.

I've heard that is quite common in the south. If you're from the north you 'won't take off of work for catfishin.' is what I was told!

It sounds like you guys really have a heck of a plan and I wish you the best on starting fresh!

Wow, you have some young parents, mom is only 8 years on me. I guess you guys better start playing the lotto hardcore bud, hahaha.

You picked the 2 of my least favorite of the southern states. Georgia is not too bad tho. I just don't care for the gulf coast states much. Hate to get on my feet and have a storm take out my junk right after we get comfortable.

Well, I'm 21 years old lol. Well, we were looking at east Texas, where it's green and off the coast, and north Florida for the same reasons. We're always open to suggestions. We don't know much about down there and could use the knowledge of someone with familiarity to the area.

I will be buying my weekly lotto tickets tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Hey! Hey! Hey! Scott! Having moved from Canada to Mexico and back to Canada, I know how it feels. But I'd go back to Mexico, once the cartels are under control. Central Mexico (cooler, and greener). My neighbourhood is growing with the influx of Filipinos, and they are EXCELLENT Neighbours! Our old hood was falling apart, and they came here (I'm sure) swearing that they'd make themselves a better life. Well, they come in here, buy an empty lot (condemned house property) from the City for about $7,000, and build up a new one! Nice families too. Enough that the Mayor has pushed the 'pros' into an old industrial park, to strut their 'stuff'.:thumbs2:

I like Virginia too. Went through there back in the early 70s chasing old Mopar Hemis with my dad.

Good luck to you and yours.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Great news gang, I have been in contact with my old boss and this is the email I just got.

    "Scott,

We would be able to bring you back on 2nd shift as soon as you are able to get back. We are in desperate need of people due to our busy season. Please send me a date in which you may be able to get you back by and we will make it happen. Thanks for the update.

    Take care,

So I am getting my $13.28 an hour, cake work job back as soon as I get home, WOHOOOO. Maybe this will finally be my year!
