I love that Dove Grey enamel. It may well be the original colour. I have a 78 Grand Marquis in that same colour. It does seem to be a very weather-resistant paint. Mine still looks almost like new (where it hasn't rusted) and it is the original paint. The 351M is a great engine. If you go to a good 2 1/4 inch dual exhaust with good flowing mufflers, you'll gain about 30 horsepower and about 5 miles to the gallon. With a good tune up, and everything set up just right, you should be able to do at least 500 miles on a tank on the highway, and that's not all that bad.

Are you planning on keeping her stock, or are you planning some changes? The other thing is whether this will be your daily driver or a special use car. If it is to be a daily driver, there are lots of bolt on things to do that will really increase the gas mileage beyond belief.

It's a special use car, not a daily, but its in good enough mechanical condition to drive to California, I believe. Honestly i don't know what the fate of this car will be under my ownership. I have two or four other projects that need money and my wife is Not warming up to this car at all. I'd love to do all those mods, and I would especially like to change the wheels and tires, but right now I don't know what's going to happen.

When you open the doors, and when I took off the rear gate panel, its metallic silver inside. But you can see no paint lines around the wood trim, so I don't know what's going on there...

Here are some pics from the previous owner I pulled from my email. I still need to get a close up of that emblem for silew, but for now here's what I have.

That car is even nicer than I thought! It is a true beauty! Hopefully your wife warms to the old girl. I would love to be in a position to buy her if you do decide to get rid, but there is no way I would ever drive that car here all year around. it would never survive in anything like that shape!

Thanks for the compliments, I wouldn't even have any idea what to ask for it if I did sell it. I traded another car for it.

My dad pulled out some old radios that will fit in the dash, and I think I came up with a plan for the back window... I'm going to go ahead and replace the motor (the one thats there will go down but not up) and to hell with all the original switches, relays whatever... I'll just run some new wires and put a nice universal switch in an existing screw hole under the dash and be done with it. I think anyone would be ok with that over a non functional window right?
