Growing up I lived a couple miles from the ocean and that's where we went to steam up the windows.

Yup, Yup. Back dirt roads and field driveways worked good too! Oh and the old railroad tracks that they no longer used. Miles of driving, passing many, many cars doing the same thing me and whoever was the flavor of the night, intended to be doing. I knew most of the people in those cars too, always was the topic of interest the next school day to see who was bumpin uglies with who.:biglaugh:

Hi Rebel, I'm doing OK...work'n, slave'n, etc:D. I still have not bout a new PC, I've been meaning to but I just have not got around to it...some thing else always grabs my attention it seems so I jump on my Daughters PC every now and then.

That drive in that Norm is talking about was also the very first drive in I went too. I can't remember how old I was but I was very young. My Dad took me and a cousin who disabled. I was given some money and told to take my cousin and get soda and pop corn. I was so young I did'nt have a clue of what money ment and took the bill that Dad gave and brought back 3 buckets (KFC size) of pop corn, 3 huge pops, and a fist full of candy bars:evilsmile:...and some change:162:. I still remember how TICKED my dad was at me and I have memorie that we did'nt even finish 1 pale of pop corn:D

Wish we had a drive in round here. It'd be a great date idea. Especially for those girls who like the wagon...
Anyone know of any in the NJ area? (PA or NY)

Just think about it, lay down the seats, lay out a pad, and you have a bed... better than a pickup cause you have a roof... (I can fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood in there, you can sleep in there)

Anyone know anything about this place?
Google maps says they're ~75 miles from my place. I'd like to find a closer one, but if this is as close as I can get, I'll take it.

Berlinsville (Northampton County) Pennsylvania
[IMG] Becky's Drive-in: 610-767-2249
located on Route 248
* Berlinsville is rather difficult to find on most maps ..
(so look for Becky's Drive-in the vicinity of Walnutport, PA) --
but is a popular old fashioned gem among traditional Drive-ins,
and much worth wandering the Blue Highways to find it. It is also
Pennsylvania's second-oldest Drive-in, and is the oldest outdoor
cinema in America that has been in continuous operation under
the same family ownership .. William Beck's outdoor movies had
started out back in 1936 originally with sit-down benches and was
then converted to a Drive-in movie by William Beck ten years later.
Formally known at one point as the Route 45 Drive-in, the locals
inevitably would refer to it as Beck's Drive-in, or simply Becky's
(and Old Route 45 in any case would later be renamed Route 248).
William Beck is no longer around to greet movie-goers, but his
sons and daughters have kept the lights on all these years, and
Mrs. Beck, at 81, still helps maintain the old fashioned flavor of
Becky's Drive-in by making the famous homemade chili they sell.
