Hi All, I just signed up for your Forum. I am down here in sunny Texas where it is now 1000 degrees in the shade. I have restored a lot of classic cars and now have a 66 Toronado and a 67 Eldorado now. I am really wanting to restore a cool 60s era station wagon like the ones I used to ride around in as a kid. My personal favorite is the 68 Country Squire. Anyway, I'll keep watching your forum. If you guys need to know anything about the big GM sedans I probably have experienced it. Can't wait to learn about the wagons from you all.
Welcome to the forums! Do you have a wagon or are you just starting the adventure of ownership of a longfoof? I'll be the first to tell you most wagons are a bugger to find parts for. I'm in stewardship of a 65 olds vista cruiser, have had it for4 years now and I have found parts for it but I have to be diligent about scouring the interweb to find them! Anyway good luck on search!.....Longroofs Rule!
Oh buy the way I forgot to tell you we love pictures around here! Even if they're not wagons. Here is a couple of my 65
Hi wagoninsane I don't have a wagon yet I am searching for a 68 Country Squire now. I found the same parts problem when restoring the big GM cars like the Eldorado and the Toronado. No one wants to reproduce such low volume parts! Sort of par of the challenge. It took me three Toronados to restore the one. I am hoping to find one good restoration candidate and a parts car. I love the olds vista cruiser. Had one as a kid. That is another favorite especially with the great glass setups in the back.
Welcome to the forums! Where in Texas are you located? Member Leadslead and I live in Seguin (I actually live with Leadslead's family). A CS is going to have the same kinds of parts problems as any GM or Chrysler project from that era, but our members work diligently to get them solved. There are tons of threads on restorations, modifications, you name it, so look everything over. And enjoy!
Welcome aboard. Sounds like you have quite the history with classic automobiles. I like your Toronado. Those were certainly unique cars even when new. I hope you find the right wagon.
Good to have another Texan on the board. Howdy! I'm just outside of Houston in Missouri City. Welcome There are some more pictures of "Sarge" on page 2 of the Garage
