Warning rant The %#$^ Westboro Baptist Church is coming to Joplin!!! I admit that I have never liked this town but I would never wish ANY tragedy on this city or on its citizens. And I would NEVER, NEVER wish that HATE PLAGUE church on anybody!!! ^*(%#&* ^&$(!)) !^@$^*%$ X
If you bump into any of them and they are say this is God's will. Tell them Jesus is helping look for surviers.
We have been asked to not say anything to them. There is a group of people who have been dealing with the WBC for years and they are here in Joplin and will be "blocking" the WBC from the memorial service on Sunday. It is a peaceful engagement and everyone who is to attend both the memorial service and the counter protest are asked to uphold the peace and to remember why we are all here and that is to remember what we have lost; our homes, friends, family... http://www.facebook.com/pages/Counter-Protest-Westboro-Coming-to-Joplin/164253663638132?sk=info Anyways if you would like to see a complete satellite view of the city here is a link: http://ngs.woc.noaa.gov/storms/joplin/ Our local Zimmer Radio Group has been broadcasting on all their stations here. They have set up a streaming video of their studio. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/kzrg-morning-news-watch X
I have to admit I've never heard of them, so I did a google search and watched a few Yuotube vidios.....I can't even voice my opinion on the forum of my thoughts!! My heart does go out to all the familys who suffered and I hope the memorial service is uninterupted.
I think my wife put it best when she said that they are catastrophe chasers, because they stand to gain so much money by antagonizing and goading people who are hurting and suffering into reacting, and doing so all behind the guise of religious beliefs.
I am glag someone will be there to buffer those who are suffering. I don't want to start a riot but i feel they need to be put in there place using thier own words. I agree with your wife. I feel that they only do for gain not help. I live near Harrison Arkansas and I see what is happening on the news. Our harts go out to all of you int these tring times.
Ditto...never heard of them...so what I don't understand is why they stay in this so called GD country, where they are protected by the very people that are apparently hated by God(in their opinion)?
wow, Xav....those pix really put the devastation in perspective. That tornado must have not only been super powerful but HUGE as well!
The Joplin Tornado, being classified as an EF5 tornado, is now ranked as the 8th deadliest/destructive tornado in recorded American history. The current death toll, 154... and it may still grow due to a fungus, and fiberglass and asbestos insulation dust blown all over the city. On top of the fungus { http://www.stltoday.com/news/state-...cle_10bdd4cb-657c-5121-ba8d-a74e96498413.html } there is also mold growing that can cause severe illness/death. My wife and I have been in the damaged areas and it is haunting, seeming foreign during the day and so very dark and empty at night. I had to take my wife to the hospital this week. She had an infection and is now on a high dose of strong medicines. What was the cause, we don't know for sure, but she is feeling better and is back on her feet. I'm lucky in that I have an unusually strong immune system. Our 3rd Anniversary was also this week and it had a different meaning than before because we know how close we came to loosing each other forever. We went to Grand Falls waterfall where we got married, ate dinner, and reminisced. So while the city of Joplin strives to get back to normal the gravity of what happened is still affecting all of us and is forever, constantly present in our daily lives...
