ok some of you may have been privy of my plans with the shipwreck. in 1991 and 1992 olds made a custom cruiser wagon but no sedan version. so i have been gathering parts to turn the shipwreck into just that. so i went and bought the grille today ...couldnt help but try it on! also bought the badges and hood ornament ...they should bee here this week! i felt bad takeing the grille from the CC at the junk yard...almost like i was taking its soul!
It's a natural progression thing. Don't feel bad. Some are beyond saving. They give up the rest of themselves so others can survive......
oh it was pretty rusty, the pass side rockers were gone. it had big blisters but i looked at the inspection sticker...it was on the road this time last year!!! i really like the custom cruisers...gm really should have finished it out along side the rest of the b bodies. i am also curious if there were any concept drawings for a 90's bbody pontiac wagon.

I've been wondering the same thing. If I ever bought a b-body, I would look into turning it into a B-body Bonneville Safari. Probably no wood, but with stainless steel wide moldings on the bottom third like the mid to late 60's Bonnevilles had........
Just did an internet search looking for Pontiac B-body concepts or prototypes - nothing. Anybody out there get Automobile Quarterly? They could have done a feature on them maybe? Ian - is the Olds going to be more 'Delta 88' or '98 Regency'?
You need to be able to decifer what cars are beyond hope and whats fixable. The car you snagged the grill from was past being fixed.
actually, custom cruiser ...for 3 reasons 1. the regency and 88 were still made and fwd at the time of the CC 2. this is essentially a custom cruiser sedan, as the roadmaster was sedan and wagon as was the caprice. no need to change the name. there was a custom cruiser sedan made in either the 40's or 50's 3. i got CC badges with the hood ornament i bought off ebay.
jeff, what i may need your help with is hubcaps. i could put a set of plastic from an alero on but id rather go with the 1980's aluminum discs like these or the custom cruiser caps...not wires looked at the local boneyard and most of the caps from the 80's were very oxidized or rusty (same difference) if you happen to go bonyard surfing or go to the "swap shop" (although the latter seems to only have parts to mitsubishi vans and pickups) keep your eyes open please
