Nice catch! Doesn't look too bad to restore. Maybe get some information or parts from AACA/BCA forums... Lot's of pre-war Buick guys over there.
I just noticed this thread. I'm looking at that thing and thinking, "oh my gosh, look at all that rust free sheet metal!" You western folk make me sick showing off your rust free tin!
Ain't it the truth, fggn. AND, F-27 is getting the car FREE if he just hauls it out of there. If I had spotted that car it would be owned by a guy that would want $20K for it.
GN300 I thought I mentioned it here, may be in the Parklane thread, the guys sick of seeing it on his property. If I can get it off his land, I can have it. It is a 42, I was talking to the guy last night. It was brought up here that auto production was stopped in 1942 for the war effort against Germany. I had misunderstood the date on the cars reg. The reg says its a 41 but the build date thats stamped to the car door says its manufacturing date is November 1941 as a 1942 model. fggn dont kid yourself, Lake Tahoe California/ Nevada gets snow. This year they got alot of it. Just like NY does. Theres some real derelects laying around California. Just saw a 74 Buick wagon the other day here in town , the seller called a " Project " , more like a homeless persons condominium. Brake system was missing, the carb was gone, sofa cushions and clothes and I think even a kitchen sink were scattered inside the car lol, paint was flaking off in the wind. The guy wanted $3500 for that mess. He will be holding onto that one for the long haul. Guys trying to reach into his dogs ass pull out a nice runny turd and magically turn it into gold. It just dosent happen that way. The wreckers might give the guy 20 bucks for hte thing. Its a basket case.
almost lol Fox my ride back there is a flake and keeps planning things on its due date, still working on it.
I don't want to interupt this thread. But here is the link(maybe) to my thread... http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12912
HEY! F-27! Did you think I would forget about that gorgeous Buick?? Please tell me you have it at YOUR place now. If you don't...and, if it's still sitting in the same spot....I swear, I'm going to take a long trip and go get it myself! So...what's up with that beauty? Inquiring minds want to know.
1942 Buick F-27, you are very lucky. This is one of those "you ain't gonna believe this." stories. I would still be sitting there waiting for someone to come and help get this thing home. Even my home in Florida! By the way, get that RV also! It's an antique and worth money. Compared to most cars left outside for many years that Buick is near mint! Please get it home before someone else gets it or the owner changes his mind.
