Blocked Again Well it's lonely in here so I'll bring this up again. Seems like one day I can see Craigs list ads and other times I get a code This IP has been automatically blocked. If you have questions, please email: Son has been over using my lap top and wanted to find parts. He got the same code. I can't see these Craigslist ads most of the time now so can't comment or dream. I may go off the internet and come on then it may work. Anyone else having problems viewing Craigslists anywhere? I can get all the others so far.
I've never had any problem seeing the CL ads, but recently I've been getting ad pop-ups that cover the CL ad photo thumbnails. I just clicked an 'x' to make them go away, but I was getting angry about it. Went in to my browser settings (I use Google Chrome) and clicked on a few things, and they're gone now (YEA!).
Thanks for the replies. I was bored so asked again. I really can't figure it out and can't send an e-mail because I don't use that service. Guess I'll just hope it pops back up again. Fannie until then I grounded Dollie. So far I can bring up all links except Craigslists. I was about to put in several mega dollar orders on there too!
The possible reasons, one, your internet provider has blocked the IP for Craigslist, and the second is that one of your "protection" programs is blocking the IP. If you are running multiple anti virus programs, this can lead to many problems, since anti virus programs are not compatible with each other. I have a program that will block some websites (IP's) since t here is an exploit detected on them. These exploits can put unwanted software on your computer in milliseconds, and do a lot of harm to you personally, if they can gather personal information. Facebook and Craigslist are just a few of the places that this malware resides waiting for the unsuspecting. If you don't want to run the risk of infection, then stay away from the sites that are blocked. Not all posts on Facebook or Craigslist are infected, but enough of them that occasionally, you are blocked.
Thanks Junk. I figured it was some sort of protective block so I shouldn't complain if my programs are actually doing their jobs. I just checked on the Ambassador link and I am still blocked from Craigslist. No big deal really. I may check again to see if I can find the blockage.
The Ambassador link is not problematic, so I suggest that you check with your IP provider and see if they can give you some help troubleshooting the problem. If you have limited computer expertise, then you can do more damage trying to correct the problem. Some problems are best left to the experts.
I can turn it on and add programs, usually extra programs I didn't want! Thanks. A nearby friend calls a "so called expert" every time his computer acts up. Costs a small fortune and usually still acts up. We don't have many real experts around the boonies that make house calls. One of my free virus programs, AdvancedSystemCare7, keeps wanting me to up date it. Everytime I do it adds crap I don't want so I delete again. That could be where my problem is. I'm still using Firefox. I did try the Ambassador link and it wouldn't open. Other than this minor problem it's working fine.
I would start by removing all anti virus programs, and your "advanced care programs". Then download the following programs... Avast Free http://www.avast.com/index Malwarebytes free https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/ Malwarebytes Anti Exploit https://www.malwarebytes.org/antiexploit/ CCleaner Free http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download Defragler Free http://www.piriform.com/defraggler Make sure that you are not tricked into other software, or downloading the paid product. With these tools, you should be able to keep your computer free of any problems. If you have malware or a virus on your computer already, then they might block you from downloading the above programs. If this is the case, then you will need to take the computer to a place such as Staples, and have their experts fix your computer. I have seen some computers so corrupted that the only fix was to reformat the hard drive, and reload the operating system. Hopefully yours will not be one of them. Fix it now, before the problems take control of your computer, and make it a nightmare to fix. DISCLAIMER: The above are the programs that I use, and have not had any problems or conflicts with any of them. Download and use at your own peril, and I am specifically not responsible if your computer rolls over and dies, or has any other malady associated with it. This advise is free, and everyone knows what free advise is worth! Once you download the above programs, you are required to learn how to use them.
Even if these don't help me maybe others will save time and money by installing a few of these free programs.
