Me, I'd vote for the Torino. But I'm a fan of the older wagons, power amenities be damned!

Yes they can be more work, yes they probably don't get the mileage and no they don't typically have the comfort features. But that's not why I drive them. Practicality doesn't fit into it for me. I just like 'em. I like the looks and the feel of them. And honestly, if it does break down, there is at least a chance that I'll be able to fix it. (Fuel/air/spark...the rest is just details)

MPG? I'm more in it for SPG.. (Smiles Per Gallon). I'm just happy when I'm driving my cars.

The only down side to that Torino is what someone already mentioned. It's not a full size. And after driving a Catalina wagon compared to my Tempest wagon, I'm pretty sold on the full size. But I'd still take the Torino over the newer wagon.

SPG. My wife was asking me why I always smile when I drive the wagon. She knows I don't smoke weird stuff or take pills, and there weren't any babes walkin' the sidewalks. Now I know what to tell her - Smiles Per Gallon. Thanks!:biglaugh:

Yup....a lot to be said about your post, teej. I like the old stuff because I'm from those times. I like driving the big wagons, too. I find that, as I get older, I am leaning more to the big AND more comfy cars that handle a bit better, etc. But...I will never knock what you say...the big old wagons are still a favorite of mine and fun to cruise in.(y)
