Grizz, your not alone on the mouse thing - the 85 has dual exhaust, std 302 with std trans and axle. not sure if car is truly slow or it's just been a LONG time since I've driven something this old. last couple of cars Ive had have been rather quick
current daily is Audi s5 convert.

 

MAK, some have us been around the block a time or two. So now we are in no hurry to get there. Even the Big Box stores and filling stations are open 24 hours a day for our shopping convenience.

i was thinking about this driving around yesterday and I realized the difference. The cars are probably the same. It's the drivers. You probably drive like a responsible adult whereas if I'm not thinking about it I'll tend to drive like a teenager the first time his parents aren't in the car.

 

I'm pretty sure you could cram a 351 in there without having to change much. I think I read somewhere on here about the cp's that some came with a Windsor?

 

they did somewhere along the way, the trans i currently have has 230,xxx miles, im not sure if a total rebuild would suffice for the added power or not.

 

I pulled mine shortly after I got the car and a friend rebuilt the tranny for me because of that overdrive cable grommet that mak mentioned above. The hardest part about that was trying to do it without damaging all the smog pump tubes
