I'm not much of an ice cream eater, but cheesecake, I'M IN!

Ice cream is my downfall. I can't help myself, actually, I help myself too often:huh: . There's just too many places to grab a quick cone and dispose of the evidence while my wife is shopping and I'm waiting outside. The only time I get caught is when she discovers evidence that's dripped onto my shirt that I missed in my hasty clean up. A real piece of cheesecake would be a challenge given it's more difficult to find and eat quickly and without crumbs giving me away. However, I did manage to enjoy a cherry cheesecake ice cream cone last week while my wife was being distracted by her sister in a jewellery story. I knew as soon as they entered that store that I had lots of time .

I have been driving the Freestyle all over the place the last month or so, but I never seem to remember to take photos. Last Sunday I was waiting for a fellow to show up with a truck I was interested in. As I waited I realized that the sky looked amazing. So I snapped a photo.

That is a neat picture. The sky looks like it's about to get real nasty. I remember similar skies when we lived in Southern Alberta many decades ago.

Bleyhl's co-op in Grandview Washington. Just off of I-82 on the old Yakima Valley Highway.

I was driving south east through all types of weather. It wasn't until I got to Grandview and turned to look back at what I just driven through that I stopped to admire it.

Yes, it certainly has been. And, full discloser, Mrs. OrthmannJ isn't exactly easy on vehicles...
Sooooo it definitely gets a gold star.

We went to one of our favorite seasonal spots, the Red Barn at Barrett Orchards this weekend for a Mother's Day outing. Mrs. OrthmannJ insisted that we take her car, and as usual declined to be in the photos.

And they happen to have one of the best "mobile advertising" units I've seen in a while.

My late brother Geoff had one, an Apache 3100. Since he bought it from his friend Jim Nestle, Geoff nicknamed it the "Nestlebuggy, the truck that ran on faith alone."

Recently we went on a trip to San Diego. (My first time traveling to California.) We drove over to Seattle the day before our flight.
We stopped at the historic summit of Snoqualmie Pass for a pit stop.

That evening as we were going to dinner we noticed another Freestyle pulling into the parking lot.

    We were twining.
It was a family with a couple of kids the same ages as our boys. The Dad said they had just bought it for their daughter to be her first car.
